We are a family owned and operated business. We started milking sheep in 2013. It all started, with my mother in law gave me the inspiration to start this business. She had a passion for all things nourishment.
Her stories of shepherding her flock of sheep in the Greek mountains. Scaling the mountain sides, tirelessly finding the best pasture for her sheep to graze. All to create the greatest quality dairy for the finest cheeses and dairy products.
We were inspired to start our own journey into sheepherding. To recreate her passion and dedication for sheep dairy, right here in Ontario.
MEET THE FAMILY
Phil Eades
Cofounder, Farmer
For a number of years, Phil was a firefighter in Markham. He was tired of the bustling city life and wanted to return to his roots, farming. Phil grew up on a farm and he missed that organic, fulfilling way of life. His love for sheep runs in the family, Phil’s father used to tend sheep in Whales. Now, Phil and Helen are teaching their son how to tend to the flock.
Helen Eades
Cofounder, Farmer
Helen's passion for sheep also runs deep in her family roots. Her Mother grew up in Greece, providing for her family by tending to her flock of sheep in the mountains and creating cheese with her Sheep’s milk. When Helen’s Mother tells stories about her experiences in Greece, it reignites Phil and Helen’s inspiration and passion for sheep and dairy.
The two families combined their love for farming in 2013 and Little Britain Sheep Dairy was created.
